  Security

Security is the primary concern when it comes to data storage and access through Internet. SalesMIS.net incorporates advanced security features to ensure that customers’ data is protected from unauthorised access. As the first measure of security, SalesMIS.net has been hosted with Sify’s world-class IDC at Vashi. This means that certain most fundamental security measures are already in place.

 Physical Access

Physical access to the server is restricted. Administrative access to the server is
provided through console switch only.

The server is placed in a separate subnet and is safeguarded from security threats
through other less secure or poorly configured servers in the network.

 Network Access

Only HTTP requests are allowed.

Request from invalid and unidentified IPs are not allowed (prevents DOS attacks)

Intrusion detection system checks for intrusion attempts on the server and will send
alerts on a proactive basis.

Robust hardware based Firewall for access filtering.

Server Hardening measures like port blocking, removal of independent services
 and extension mapping.

 Application and Data Access

Users login to SalesMIS.net by providing the CompanyID, LoginID and Password.

Every user once logged into SalesMIS, functions within a 'Context'. The Context
defines the Company's credentials and the User's access privileges. Data for every company is stored within the Context of the company. Therefore, the database of any individual company remains isolated and cannot be accessed by others.

 Data Transmission

SalesMIS.net transmits data that is highly critical and confidential to the Companies.
To ensure maximum protection during data transmission, the entire SalesMIS.net
application has been SSL enabled. This ensures that all the data that is transmitted
over the Internet are encrypted. The 128 bit encryption has been provided by VeriSign,
the world’s No. 1 Certificate Authority.
